Handling Animal Products - approval and registration step by step 

This activity consists in procuring, producing, processing, treating, packing, storing, transporting and marketing animal products.

Entrepreneurs intending to carry out this activity must be approved and registered by the relevant Regional Veterinary Administration. The approval and registration shall be carried out following an application submitted in writing.

The application shall be supplemented with:

  • a copy of licence to undertake the business (typically, a trade licence or an extract from the Commercial Register)
  • an enterprise project
  • the final building approval
  • location and territorial charts of plant in its surroundings
  • a site plan
  • documents on potable water supply
  • the HACCP plan pursuant to Notice No. 137/2004 Coll.
  • th operating and hygiene code
  • the Regional Veterinary Authority may request submission of other documents (such as regarding equipment at the site, etc.)

The Regional Veterinary Administration shall approve and register the applicant within 30 days.

The business may be conducted after fulfilling all the above stated requirements.
