The present document sets forth conditions and further information for awarding the licence to conduct the professional activity consisting in the laboratory examination of game meat for the presence of Trichinella.

Conditions for granting a licence

  • minimum age of 18 years
  • full legal capacity
  • probity
  • professional eligibility to conduct the activity concerned – i.e. veterinarians, and other persons then a private veterinarian, i.e. private veterinarian technician, eligible person complying to the Art. 59 and paragraph 1 letter b) to c) of the Veterinary Act and a person who has obtained expert training followed by a final exam and was therefore awarded the certificate of eligibility to conduct such activity
  • the condition to conduct the said activity in an environment and under such veterinary and sanitary conditions that, in accordance with the statement from the competent Regional Veterinary Administration, correspond to the type and scope of the activity concerned. The Regional Veterinary Administration shall assess the extent of compliance with the said conditions at the site

Application requirements

The application shall include:

  1. name(s) and surname, permanent, temporary or residential address and date of birth of the applicant (where natural persons are concerned), or the trade name, registered address and/or address of an organisational unit in the territory of the Czech Republic, where relevant, and the applicant's identification number, if available (where a legal entity is concerned) as well as the first names, surnames, permanent, temporary or residential addresses and dates of birth of members of the entity's statutory body and expert representative
  2. full legal capacity
  3. probity
  4. requested type and scope of activity

Individuals shall attach the following:

  • extract from the Criminal Register not older than 6 months
  • documents as to professional eligibility

Legal entities shall attach the following:

  • extracts from the Criminal Register for persons comprising their statutory bodies and expert representatives
  • professional eligibility documents of the expert representative

Procedure for granting a licence

  • The request shall be assessed and approved by the Regional Veterinary Administration. Where required, local investigation shall be carried out during the decision-making process

  • Within 30 days of submission

Validity period of the licence

  • Unlimited term of authorisation

A documentary proof of professional eligibility must be supplemented to the application.

Where the request is submitted by a legal entity, the same documents must be provided for their expert representative and an extract from the Criminal Register for their statutory representative.

Further information on the licence proceedings

The Regional Veterinary Administration shall issue a resolution on the licence in a compliance with the Act no. 500/2004 Coll., Administrative Code, as amended. The business may be conducted after fulfilling all the above stated requirements.
