Conditions for granting a licence

The institute may award the licence provided that:

  1. The laboratory equipment complies with the envisaged scope and type of activities for which the licence is sought
  2. Laboratory tests will be carried out by persons with, as a minimum requirement, a completed secondary education in the field of chemistry or biology
  3. Subject to validation tests, the results of laboratory testing were found to be within the range of tolerance specified for the said type of testing

Application requirements

The licence application must contain:

  • name and surname, possibly trade name, site where the activity is to be performed, address and identification number (where a natural person is concerned), and/or trade name, registered address and identification number (where a legal entity is concerned) and scope of activity for which the licence is sought

The application shall include:

  • details of the instrumentation of the laboratory (a list of instruments shall be drawn up by the applicants themselves)
  • data on the academic qualification of the laboratory staff (documentary proof demonstrating at least secondary education in the field of chemistry or biology)

Requirements connected to the provision of services by a provider from a different Member State

No special requirements associated with the provision of services by providers from another Member State have been specified.

Procedure for granting a licence

  • The application shall be approved and assessed by the Central Institute for Supervising and Testing in Agriculture. A part of the approval process is an on-site investigation.

Application clearing deadline

  • The Central Institute for Supervising and Testing in Agriculture shall award the licence within six months of the licence application being submitted.

Fees

  • CZK 1,000 (item 22 letter b) of Act No. 634/2004 Coll.), on administrative fees

Validity period of the licence

  • Unlimited term of authorisation

Combined proceedings (recognising qualifications and granting authorisation)

  • The professional qualification recognition procedure shall be governed by Article 22 et seq. Act No. 18/2004 Coll., on the recognition of professional qualification and other competence of EU Member State nationals and some nationals of other countries and on amendments of certain acts (Act on the Recognition of Professional Qualification).

Professional liability insurance

  • No professional liability insurance is required
