Taxi service – start-up procedure step by step

1. 5. 2014 | Source: Point of Single Contact (PSC) Czech Republic

A taxi service means offering or providing transfer services, which consists of transferring passengers and their baggage by passenger vehicles with a seating capacity of not more than nine people, including the driver.

Those interested in operating a taxi service must first obtain certification of professional qualification, which will be issued by the Transport Authority after successfully passing a test. This certification is a prerequisite for obtaining the license certificate. The holder of the license certificate must inform the local authority about which vehicles will be used for the service and which people will serve as drivers. A person who will physically perform the role of driver for the taxi service must also pass a test on local geography, and on operating the taxi meter and other parts, regardless of whether or not he is the operator of the taxi service. He must sign up for this test alone, not through the operator.
