Installation, repair, inspection and testing of gas equipment and filling vessels with gas

Installation, repair, inspection and testing of dedicated gas equipment, namely equipment for the production and treatment of gas, the storage and transport of gas, and the filling of vessels with gas, including pressure stations, the liquefaction and evaporation of gas, increasing and decreasing gas pressure, gas distribution, gas consumption by combustion. For the purposes of this Decree, gas shall be deemed to be a substance whose critical temperature is lower than +50 °C, or a substance whose absolute pressure (vapour pressure) is higher than 0.3 MPa at a temperature of +50 °C.

Filling vessels with gas, operating LPG and compressed gas filling stations. Carrying out any gas fitting operations, making connections for gas appliances, the installation of domestic gas distribution systems with accessories, the installation of appliances permanently connected to the gas distribution system and all filling stations for LPG, natural gas and the like.

The trade also covers the installation, repair, inspection and testing of unspecified gas equipment and preparatory and finishing work related to gas fitting work.

1) Notification of a vocational trade

The notification is submitted:

  1. at any trade licence office
  2. via public administration contact points (the so-called Czech POINT) – in Czech only
  3. electronically, via the information system provided by the Register of Trade Business

Notification may only be submitted using the so-called Single Registration Form.

Documents evidencing professional competence (see conditions for carrying on the trade) should be attached to the notification. Besides these documents, no other facts need to be evidenced for this trade.

If the conditions for trade notification stipulated by the Trade Licensing Act have been met, the trade licence office shall make an entry in the Trade Register within 5 days of the delivery of the notification and shall issue a copy of the entry to the business person.

2) Verification of professional competence and issue of authorisation

In order to carry out the activity, an entrepreneur must obtain an authorisation from the Technical Inspection of the CR in accordance with Sec. 6a, Art. 1c) of the Act no 174/1968 Coll. for special technical equipment.

The application form for verification of the professional competence and issue of the authorisation is available on the website of the Technical Inspection of the CR (“Žádost o oprávnění pro zahraniční subjekty PZ” – in Czech only). The form contains all necessary information regarding the submission and subsequent verification of the professional competence.
