Main information about the service

Prior to the placing on the market of weapons referred to in Section 6(2) of Act No 156/2000, the person intending to place these weapons on the market must submit to the Czech Proof House for Firearms and Ammunition a specified firearm for verification that the specified firearm meets the technical requirements, that the technical documentation is complete, and that the submitter has calibrated gauges and tools and has a technical control system in place. This is known as the homologation process. The specified firearms are not subject to homologation if a maximum of five units of this weapon are to be placed on the market in one year.

Does this apply to me?

The obligation to submit weapons for homologation applies to you (as a manufacturer, importer, exporter, distributor or repairer of weapons subject to homologation) if you wish to place such weapons on the market.

Service outcome

The result of homologation (if the conditions are met) is the issuing of a certificate. The certificate is issued for a maximum of two years, but you may request its extension three months before it expires.

Service benefit

Based on the certificate, you can place the weapon on the market, which means any provision, or offer to provide, without consideration or for consideration, such weapon for distribution or use, or the transfer of ownership of the indicated weapon by a manufacturer, importer, distributor or repairer in the Czech Republic
